The 4th Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Awards Presentation Ceremony was held. A number of social work experts gathered in PKU.

On the morning of March 11th, the opening ceremony of the IASSW China and Southeast Regional Resource Centre and the 4th Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Awards Presentation Ceremony was held at Peking University. Lv Xiaoli, the director of Social Work Department of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Li Yansong, vice president of Peking University, Professor Yuen-Tsang Woon Ki, vice president of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Professor Vimla Nadkarni, the president of IASSW, Chen Shuyin, the representative of Si Yuan Foundation and Ze Shan Foundation attended the ceremony and gave speeches. Professor Wang Sibin presided over the opening ceremony. More than 260 participants scholars and experts on social work education from countries and regions such as India, Singapore, South Korea, Italy, China Mainland, China Hong Kong and China Taiwan, as well as government officials, faculties and college students attended the ceremony.

The “Lam Woo Fund” was established in 1986 to help the disadvantaged group. Since 2009, the fund has supported the Department of Sociology at Peking University and the Department of Applied Social Sciences at Hong Kong Polytech University. It established the “Lam Woo Social Work Training and Development Fund". Since 2009, the Lam Woo social work award has been held for three years. This is the fourth. During the four years, 6 scholars have won the outstanding scholar award, 16 internship projects have won the outstanding internship project award, 8 service projects have received the outstanding social work service project award, and 16 students have won the outstanding student award.
